Thank you so much for volunteering. Without the help of our volunteers in the community, many girls would not be able to join the girl scouts this year.
As a new volunteer and leader there is a lot to know. At SU 70-8 we make it easier for you to find the resources you need to have a great troop. Below is information on how to get started.
APPLY TO BE A VOLUNTEER |
- Fill out a volunteer position application (We are in Association 70, Service Unit 8)
- Fill out the references
- Sign up for training

SIGN UP FOR TRAINING |
- Set up an account
- Log into your account and go to CATALOG
- Sign up for the required courses (if you want to get it all done in one day, sign up for one of the Blitzes)
- Basic Leadership
- Program Level Training (Daisy, Brownie, etc.)

TO REGISTER YOUR TROOP |
- Troop Organizer requests Registrar to set up new troop with Data Coordinator.
- Data Coordinator transfers leader into troop and sets up as 01.
- Registrar is notified by Data Coordinator when account is active.
- Leader collects registration information and membership fees from parents.
- Leader opens a bank account and obtains a check card.
- Leader activates her account and creates a log-in using the following information exactly as written to activate the account:
- i. First Name
- ii. Last Name
- iii. E-mail Address
- Leader inputs the information of all members of her troop into her troop hub and pays with her troop check card

The service unit has meetings each month at Algonkian Elementary Cafeteria. The leader or someone designated should attend each of these meetings.
